Another slice of my Underground themed artwork. Inspired by illustrationsweb.com, I hope to capture my viewers attention by coming up with a piece of artwork that can change someone's whole conception of thought.
This piece is called the Train of Thought because it gives an unusual insight into the inner workings of the tube...
Unbeknown to the typical passenger, beneath their feet are electrical currents (similar to a pulsating heart) constantly surging power through each and every tube carriage.
The colours of the underground lines are indicated as wires coming off a plug. From an abstract perspective, the tube carriage is open because I want to empathise the normality inside the tube carriage in comparison to what the tube carriage is doing. I would like to show from another dimension how power circulates through each tube carriage. Each tube carriage is powered by electrical currents so that there is not too little or too much power given to a certain carriage.
The way the wires weave under and over each over is very similar to the layout of the Underground system.
As the Metropolitan line was the first catalyst that started the Underground revolution the line has its own wire, suggesting its significance.
